Chalmers Webinar!

Next week, there is a free Chalmers webinar entitled "The Church and the Concept of Poverty" from 12-1 pm Eastern Standard time. This is the first in a series of 6 webinars based on the book.

The "When Helping Hurts" webinars are a series of live, one-hour web-based training seminars about how to effectively minister to the poor. They review and expand upon the topics presented in "When Helping Hurts." Each session covers one or more chapters of the book and is facilitated by the book authors, Brian Fikkert and Steven Corbett, and occasionally a special guest. You will view the presenter's slides on your computer and hear the audio presentation, with the opportunity to submit questions in advance of the webinar.

There is no charge, but you must register to reserve your spot. I'd highly recommend these to people who have read the book and would like more interaction with the material and the authors. Go here to register or learn more about the Webinars.

If you'd like a book to prepare for the sessions, you can get them on Amazon, at the First Pres. Jackson bookstore, in most Christian bookstores, or from me if you're in Jackson.
