Interesting Article on Missions work in Africa

Here is the link to an article entitled

"As an atheist, I truly believe Africa needs God"

that my roommate from Peru, Clara Lee, recently sent me.

The article is very interesting and shows how Christianity, which gives a right understanding of oneself as a child of God, is the only way to bring about true change in countries suffering under the weight of poverty, injustice, and oppression. Because the author is not a Christian, he cannot understand the work of the Holy Spirit in a person's life to bring about a heart change leading to godliness, but his observations about what Christianity does to and for the poor and oppressed are right on.

"Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets the prisoners free; the LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD lifts up those who are bowed down; the LORD loves the righteous. The LORD watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin." Psalm 146: 5-9.
